Becoming a new parent is an exciting and busy time in life, and we understand that returning to work after parental leave can be daunting task. It is important to us that you are well supported when you come back from parental leave, so we are offering a phased return-to-work option for you.
Ease back to work for new parents will let you get some balance as you return to work with part-time hours on your full-time pay to make the changes easier and so you do not have to worry about any financial impact on your family.
This policy applies to all permanent team members employed in any Brand of The Warehouse Group who normally work 5 days per week (or 40 hours) and are returning to their previous role in a full time capacity after they have been on parental leave.
Process Overview
If you work 5 days a week, you can take the equivalent of 1 day off every week for a period of 4 weeks while you ease back into work. You will still get paid for the day you have off. You will need to negotiate which days you have off with your Manager.
When you confirm that you are returning to work from your Parental Leave, you will need to speak to your Manager to agree on the days that you will work during your first four weeks.
Next steps from here is to put an application into MyPay using the special leave type that is set up. (Note: these hours will not come off the leave you already entitled too)
You and your Manager will also need to discuss how your workload can be managed for these four weeks' and what extra support you might require to help with your transition.
